Used Book Sale on Saturday, February 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Lexington Village Hall.

The Moore Public Library has taken the next step toward expanding our library facility by purchasing the building next door, which was most recently an antique shop. It will need to be completely renovated.
The Library Board has been considering an expansion for about ten years and has saved money during this time is order to be prepared when the time was right.  In 2008, the library board and twenty community volunteers met over a three month period with the Breton Group to come up with a Needs Assessment and Facility Planning Report.  The greatest need identified was for more space, and this expansion will meet that need.
A few months ago the Board hired the H2A architectural firm to provide us with options for expansion.  They determined that purchasing the building next door and renovation would be less expensive than adding new construction to the library.
A public meeting was held in August to gauge the opinion of the community about buying the building. It was well-attended, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
The Board plans to hire an architectural firm to help plan the addition. Then, fundraising will begin.
